New Bond Street, Douglas, 1935 (scroll down for more information)




In 1935 E.C. Quayle jnr took a series of photographs of old Douglas, prior to demolition. His father then used these as subjects and painted all twelve.  I have included one example here, you'll notice that the figure in the photograph was excluded from the painting.

The collection was done specifically for the Manx Museum and donated following his death in 1946.
